WDIY is pleased to announce the Annual Members' Meeting scheduled Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at 7pm to 8pm at the station’s 301 Broadway studio in Bethlehem for the purpose of Election of a Member Representative to the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association’s Board of Directors, a two-year term.  The President of the Board of Directors, Michael Kraynak, will chair this important meeting.

The elected Member Representative is expected to participate in scheduled Board Meetings (8 or 9 annually, commencing January 2014) as well participate in Committee work.  Member Representatives are the voice of WDIY’s membership.

The Nomination period commenced at noon on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013.

Should you wish to place your name in nomination for this position, please submit your letter of interest and qualification electronically to info@wdiy.org, stating Member Representative in the subject line.

You may nominate another member for the position, assuming you have that member’s consent to do so.

Nominees will be provided no more than 5-7 minutes each during the Annual Members' Meeting to introduce themselves and state their views concerning the importance of WDIY Community Public Radio in the Lehigh Valley.

Following announcement of the ballot results, the meeting will formally close.  Light refreshments will follow.

Below is a statement from the lone nominee for the Member Representative to the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association's Board of Directors:

Mr. Paul M. Eifler:

I would like to throw my hat into the ring as a candidate for the election of  Member Representative to the Lehigh Valley Community Broadcasters Association’s Board of Directors.  As an ongoing WDIY volunteer for about 12 years I not only understand the importance of this station in the Valley, I also benefit from it in terms of being a listener and an active supporter.  I have a long history of non-profit involvement with numerous Lehigh Valley organizations.

I am an active member of the Alton Park Lions Club, e-clubhouse.org/sites/altonparkpa.

I am currently president of The Fund to Benefit Children and Youth, www.fundforkids.org/?.  The main objective of “The Fund” is giving beds to children without beds.  “The Fund” has no mortar and brick real estate and all expenses such as letters, envelopes and stamps are bought by fund members, therefore, 100% of all donations go to the children.

I am also president of ShareCare, www.sharecarefaithinaction.org/ShareCare is a non-profit agency, located in the Lehigh Valley, PA, whose volunteers help people who are elderly and/or disabled and are livng independently primarily with the provision of free transportation mainly to doctor offices and grocery stores.

I am also a small business owner in Allentown, expecting to retire in 2016.  I own a franchise of “Ameriprise Financial”, an advisory service in the field of insurance and investments and estate planning.

I have limited experience in fund raising for all of the above and have developed projects (some good, some bad) for the advancement of recognition of the above  charities.

Most of all, I have a love for the public media and would welcome a chance to serve an organization such as WDIY.

Thank you so much for considering me for the position,
